Assassin’s Creed 4 Gameplay Trailer

Ubisoft have treated us to a gameplay trailer for their upcoming title, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Hopefully this ┬átrailer will show that the developers have fixed some of the flaws from their previous Assassin’s Creed outing.

The trailer shows us just how big the world is that you will be playing through, which has over 50 unique locations to explore. We also get to see more about game protagonist Edward Kenway’s ship, Jackdaw. Like in Assassin’s Creed 3, you will be able to upgrade your ship to improve weapons, damage taken, etc; but this time it will be a bit more of a necessity in this game as you will be spending a lot more time on your ship than you would have done in AC3. We are also shown that weather plays a big part in the game, storms will damage your ship and can lead to you losing crew members if not navigated properly.

The trailer also shows use Edward’s free-running ability, which was one the major improvements in AC3, and it seems like that has been carried over with the same mechanics in to Black Flag. The actual sea combat has also be greatly improved and you now have the ability to board fallen ships and plunder them, which can have many different advantages such as getting the ship to join your fleet or just release the captives to join your crew, and this can also be done to forts that you capture, make them work for you and attack your enemies.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag looks to be full of exciting new content and is set for release on the 29th October in North America, the 31st in Australia and the 1st of November in Europe for PC, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
