In a recent talk with GameIndustry, Ubisoft announced that they would not be considering developing a sequel to ZombiU. Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft stated that, due to the game producing meagre profits, there was no point in working on a follow up title to what might be one of the most attractive games on the Wii U currently.
Apparently there was a prototype version of a sequel which has now been completely abandoned with the sales figures of the first game, and the console itself – the Wii U – being so low.
“We must find a way to ensure the creativity of those games could have a big enough audience,” Guillemot said. “We hope [the Wii U] will take off. At the moment, we’ve said ‘let’s do through Christmas and see where we are from there.’”
Maybe things will change after the Christmas period, maybe sales will pick up and more games will get developed? It looks like we have a few months to wait before any more decisions will be made and we hear any new information about games for the Wii U.
